Parallel designations are earned independently and stack on top of any sequential tier at IBC-HHP™ or above. A practitioner can simultaneously hold a sequential credential, a specialty designation, and multiple endorsements.

Recognizes advanced depth of practice in a single modality. The specialty modality is appended to the designation (e.g., IBC-HHS™ in Functional Medicine). Demonstrates focused expertise beyond the generalist IBC credential.

Dimension III — Honorary Designations

Conferred in Recognition of Career Distinction

Honorary designations are not applied for — they are conferred by ICONIC Board upon practitioners whose contributions to the field warrant formal institutional recognition.

Emeritus Designation
Conferred upon retired credentialed practitioners who have maintained active IBC standing for a minimum of 10 years and made demonstrable contributions to the field. Emeritus status preserves practitioner identity and recognition after formal retirement from practice, without active renewal obligations.

Distinguished Fellow Designation
The rarest designation in the ICONIC Board system. Conferred by unanimous Board vote upon practitioners whose lifetime contributions to holistic health — through practice, scholarship, policy, or institution building — represent exceptional and lasting advancement of the profession. No application process; nomination-only.
