Overview: What the IBC-HHP™ Represents
The IBC-HHP™ — ICONIC Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner — is the second tier in the ICONIC Board's seven-tier credentialing pathway. It marks the transition from foundational training into verified, documented active practice.
Where the Tier I credential (IBC-HHA™) recognizes completion of recognized holistic health training, the IBC-HHP™ goes further: it certifies that you are actively practicing what you studied. The credential is awarded to holistic health professionals who have accumulated at least 200 documented practice hours and who come with the endorsement of peers already working in the field.
The IBC-HHP™ is not simply a continuation of training — it is the board's recognition that you have crossed from student to practitioner.
For clients, employers, and collaborative partners, this distinction matters. It signals that your expertise has been tested in real practice settings, not just in coursework.
Who the IBC-HHP™ Is For
The IBC-HHP™ is designed for holistic health professionals who are actively seeing clients, building a practice, or working within a wellness organization. Candidates typically have:
- Completed a recognized holistic health training program (which they verified with the IBC-HHA™)
- Begun working with clients or participants in a professional capacity
- Logged at least 200 practice hours and can document them
- Established professional relationships with peers who can provide references
This credential is particularly valuable for practitioners who offer services independently, work in integrative health settings, teach wellness classes, or collaborate with other health professionals. It demonstrates that your practice is real, documented, and peer-recognized — not simply self-declared.
Requirements for the IBC-HHP™
The ICONIC Board requires three things to qualify for the IBC-HHP™:
- Active IBC-HHA™: Your Tier I credential must be current and in good standing at the time of your IBC-HHP™ application. You cannot apply for the IBC-HHP™ before holding the IBC-HHA™, and your IBC-HHA™ must not be expired, suspended, or revoked.
- 200+ documented practice hours: You must submit a practice log showing a minimum of 200 hours of professional practice in a recognized holistic health modality. Hours must be in direct client or participant contact — administrative time, personal wellness activities, or course attendance do not count toward the 200-hour practice requirement.
- Two peer references: Two references from qualified holistic health practitioners, ideally IBC credential holders or professionals with recognized standing in the field. References must be submitted on the official ICONIC Board reference form and must speak specifically to the quality of your professional practice.
Important: Practice hours must be logged in a recognized holistic health modality. Review the full requirements page for guidance on which modalities qualify and how to format your practice log.
Cost and Annual Renewal
The IBC-HHP™ application fee is $199. Annual renewal is $199 per year to maintain active credentialed status.
The renewal fee covers continued listing in the ICONIC Board practitioner directory, access to board communications and policy updates, and ongoing eligibility to advance to higher tiers. If renewal lapses, the credential becomes inactive and must be reinstated before advancement applications will be accepted.
See the complete pricing page for a comparison of all tier fees and renewal schedules.
What the IBC-HHP™ Gives You
Upon award of the IBC-HHP™, credential holders receive:
- The right to use IBC-HHP™ after your name in all professional contexts
- A listing in the ICONIC Board's public practitioner directory
- An official ICONIC Board certificate suitable for display
- Eligibility to advance to Tier III — IBC-HHE™ (ICONIC Board Certified Holistic Health Educator)
- Access to the ICONIC Board practitioner network and communications
The IBC-HHP™ designation carries weight with clients and referral sources because it is independently verified — unlike self-reported credentials or membership certificates, the board has reviewed your documentation and references before issuing the credential.
